Scope of Works

Westcool was engaged for the mechanical installation services at IGA Girrawheen, which involved optimizing and expanding the store’s HVAC and ventilation systems. The project included the following key elements:

  • Utilization of Existing Units: We retained and refurbished the three existing Temperzone Package Units, ensuring they continued to provide effective air conditioning for the store.
  • New System Installation: We supplied and installed two additional 96kW package unit air conditioners to enhance cooling capacity and ensure consistent climate control throughout the store.
  • Kitchen and Deli Ventilation: Two roof-mounted kitchen exhaust fans were installed to manage air quality for four ovens in the bakery and deli areas.
  • Office Amenities Ventilation: A roof-mounted toilet exhaust fan was added to serve the new office amenities area.
  • Fresh Air Makeup: To ensure optimal air quality, an indirect evaporative cooler was installed to provide fresh air makeup to the tenancy.
  • Ductwork & Electrical Integration: All necessary ductwork was installed, along with the electrical integration of the new systems into the store’s updated Building Management System (BMS).

Project Outcome

Westcool successfully completed the mechanical installation at IGA Girrawheen, enhancing the store’s air conditioning, ventilation, and overall environmental control. The new system ensures energy-efficient cooling, improved air quality in critical areas such as the bakery and deli, and seamless integration with the store’s BMS for optimized operation. The project was delivered on time and within budget, helping IGA Girrawheen maintain a comfortable and well-ventilated environment for staff and customers.
